I know these dramas are old now, but I feel that they need their say. They are both the same story line but visually displayed differently through the Japanese (Hana Yori Dango) and the Korean (Boys Before Flowers) versions.
The storyline goes as follows. An average girl who attends a normal school, is one day accepted into a school for wealthy kids. The school is seen as being profound. The idea behind going to this school is that you can afford it. The children that attend the school have parents that are multi millionaire business owners.
The parents of the girl are so pleased and support her in everyway, even though they know they are on the edge of being put into bankruptcy from attending this school. The girl is then mocked throughout the school because of her status in the hierachial line of wealth.
What the girl is unaware about are the leaders of the school, F4. This is a group of 4 wealthy young men who construct the order between the students of the school, this is in a sense of “what they say, goes.” By chance the girl bumps into the leader of F4 and causes a problem. From that moment the story unbinds into a romantic, comedy, action and thriller drama.
The different interpretations of the drama change from the meeting between the girl and F4. They all result in there being a love triangle, a fight, a resolution and a choice.

Although my favourite versions are the Japanese and Korean, there are still other adaptations done by both Chinese and Taiwanese.
